avatar  Lord Tasks

All of the Lord tasks take place at the Moarsman City, which is not nearly as nasty as Freebooter Isle, surprisingly. The monsters are almost entirely Moarsman, but they mostly spawn in pairs and the spawn density is not nearly as heavy as some places. Each task pays 4 tokens and 25 commendation ribbons.

Moguth Moarsman Kill Task

Simple – kill 60 Moguth Moarsmen and you’re done. Be aware that the Moarsman at the Moarsman City have names that look very similar.

Shoguth Moarsman Kill Task

Another simple one. Kill 40 Shoguths and you’re done.

Magshuth Moarsman Kill Task

Third and final kill task. Kill 20 this time.

avatar  Lord Promotion Test

So you’re a Knight in your society and you’ve been doing your duty to the best of your ability… but now it’s time for a promotion!

Preparation

In order to qualify for your promotion quest, you will need to have turned in a total of 595 ribbons, which amounts to two weeks’ worth of tasks at the Knight level (150 a week, plus your knight ribbons). When you have hit the magic number, the Commendations Officer will direct you to visit your society’s Inspector of Lords. Beyond that, you will be fighting a good number of Moarsmen and the stray Sleech. Frost or slash weapons are your best bet. If you are a mage, it might be a good idea to bring a friend along – the last room of the first step can be pretty brutal.

avatar  Knight Tasks

All five Knight tasks involve Freebooter Isle, so it would be useful to know how to get there! From Ithaenc Cathedral, you will head due west out the island and look for a stone platform above the ground, near the tip of the island (82.6S 88.8E). On the platform is a Statue of Transportation. If you have completed the Knight Promotion task, then you will be able to use this statue. You will appear on Freebooter Isle in the middle of a large temple complex, which is thankfully safe. Freebooter Isle is home to large numbers of Falatacot minion species – Moars, Moarsmen, and Sclavi. There are also Bandits, Tentacles and Niffises thrown in for good measure.

Blessed Moarsmen

This quest is pretty straightforward – find and kill 50 Blessed Moarsmen. These guys spawn on the landscape as parts of both diverse groups of Moarsmen or as packs of only Blessed Moarsmen. They also tend to spawn when you pick a Jungle Lily (see below). Once you kill 50, return to the stronghold to complete your task.

avatar  Knight Promotion Test

Now that you’ve suffered through the Adept tasks for a couple weeks, you’re ready for promotion to Knight! As always, your society needs you to do something dangerous in order to prove your mettle. You get to run through a very nasty dungeon and find… an old book!

Preparation

To be promoted, you will need to have turned in a total of 295 ribbons (which is a minimum of 2 weeks’ worth of ribbons past your Adept advancement test). The commendations officer will inform you of when you have reached that number and direct you to the Inspector of Knights in your stronghold. Beyond that, you will need to get to Ithaenc Cathedral (Sanctuary), so either use Sanctuary Recall or buy a wedding invitation. This quest is best done alone, but you certainly could find a couple friends and actually fight your way through the dungeon, if you prefer.

avatar  Adept Tasks

Now that you are an adept, you have more tasks available to you. You will also be able to turn in 100 ribbons a week, which is nice, because the adept tasks provide you with more ribbons than the initiate tasks. Each completed task will earn you 15 commendation ribbons and another 4 society coins. You, of course, can continue doing the initiate tasks as well for even more ribbons!

Graveyard Tasks

Tracing Paper

Your job is to investigate the Wight Burrow, a very short subterranean dungeon in the central west exit from the Graveyard. As you might expect, the tunnels are guarded by Wights, as well as a Captain and a Blade Sorcerer at the very end. Next to the Sorcerer is a large stone. You will need to use (ie, doubleclick) the tracing paper your society’s NPC gave you on the stone to make a copy. Because regular Wights are slow and there are only two boss Wights, running through the burrow to get the tracing is probably your best bet (all rights). Make sure you are out of combat mode before you try to make your rubbing or else your attempt will fail. After you have your rubbing, head back to your stronghold.
